Visiting Ireland and Northern Ireland

Writer: Ellis BrownEllis Brown

This is my one week trip to Ireland and Belfast, in pictures.

After arriving in Ireland, I spent the first 6 nights in County Galway, Ireland. There I explored the island of Inishbofin, photographed an incredible local business in Roundstone and visited Clifden amongst other enjoyable activities. I then spent one night in Belfast where I throughly enjoyed the Titanic experience.

You can view my County Galway album in full here.

The journey: England - Ireland

After leaving home in England, I traveled through Wales to Hollyhead port before catching the ferry to Dublin. I then travelled by car from the port across to County Galway. I really enjoyed the journey - in Wales I saw beauty pretty much everywhere I looked and at busy Dublin port in Ireland, the colourful shipping containers. Heres my journey from home to County Galway in pictures.

I loved day one of my stay in County Galway, Ireland and was already very pleased with these photos. I had exciting plans for the next day.

Day 2: exploring Inishbofin

After a short drive, I caught a ferry (a very bumpy, wet, exhilarating ride) which took me to the island of Inishbofin where I disembarked and spent much of the afternoon exploring - and it was beautiful.

Visiting the island of Inishbofin was very enjoyable - theres so much to love about it and so much to explore from the massive cliffs to the sandy beaches. On the island, I went on a hike and found my self surrounded by pure beauty, no matter the weather.

An evening surprise

After getting back, I spotted a beautiful bird hovering outside looking for prey.

Day 3: a trip to Clifden

After a more relaxed morning, I headed to Clifden in the afternoon and explored the harbour and high street before having dinner.

The weather wasn't great, but that didn't stop Clifden from still being an interesting place to visit.

Day 4: a hike in Connemara National Park

Despite the weather being very windy and misty, I hiked up Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park.

Day 6 and 7: Northern Ireland

After a lovely time in County Galway, Ireland, I arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I thourghly enjoyed the Titanic experience and a short walk towards the city centre. After 1 night there, I departed and caught a ferry from Belfast port across to Scotland before driving home to England. This bought a fun week away in County Galway and Belfast to an end.
